Humble Pie Time .....
In discussions about which Ohlins will fit with a Mille Swinger I've passed on the information I picked up that a Falco Ohlins shock with vertical reservoir will not fit as it fouls the swinger.
Well that was what I believed until yesterday.
Over on the AF1 forum, Jonsride posted up pictures of his Falco with his new Tigcraft exhaust. Well I noticed that it also had a Mille swinger with an Ohlins shock with vertical reservoir.
I asked the question as to whether he'd had any problems ... and he replied that he hadn't.
So ..... very sorry if I misled anyone.
If any of you want to have a look for yourselves, here's a LINK

I was just reading that and thought 'hmmmmmm'
On further thought I know theres a couple of people (not you DR
) that give answers in a factual 'i know this to be true' manner, when in reality its only their opinion or educated guess. This is only my observation from a few posts where i've thought 'errrr i've done that and it was fine' but leaves me thinking what else have I blindly belived
Must try and remember my login to there someday

I've noticed this with a few postings on various Aprilia forums.
Now i'm an engineer by trade - but i do like to get the opinions of others before i mod any of my bikes. If there's a problem i can generally work a way around it given time.
When people say 'you must' or 'have to' -take it with a pinch of salt.
I have worked aound various problems modding my Falco and posted my findings but still get people saying it won't work or you HAVE to do it a certain way! Well i know different.
Is it because folk tend to believe more strongly in the first thing they read or hear?...............

I agree with you moggyvan - but if the bits and pieces to do something are expensive and there is another way that's known to work, I'll usually take the safe option unless I am confident there is a way around.
Good to see this myth busted but I do feel for all those that have tried to sell their Falco Ohlins when the consensus is that it won't work with the Mille swinger. There again, it's probably been good news for buyers .....
