I quite like the 6th comment below the review. Sam... That possibly the cause of your drive not working? Killed off executables?

Nope, quite the opposite. An MS update killed it. Had to delete the culprit in the registry ... after checking with acer that I wasn't invalidating any guarantee.I quite like the 6th comment below the review. Sam... That possibly the cause of your drive not working? Killed off executables?
Incidentally, Nvidia have issued a load of updates in the last few days, and the QB prob occured with previous new OS sytems too.

Now much as I like (and use) PC Pistop, I think Mr Hogan needs to reapraise his statistics of Vista on sales.
The one thing he's not allowed for was the free upgrades, which IMSC was said to be around 250,000 units, I can't quantify that as I no longer have the email. Microsoft have never given free updates before of operating systems.
As we all now the more units sold the percentage of those disapointed rises by.
Also Vista should never be installed as an upgrade, always do a clean install.

I don't know.Samray wrote:That doesn't affect any of the problems he mentions does it ?Gio wrote:Also Vista should never be installed as an upgrade, always do a clean install.
I do now that the programmes I have all run on Vista and without lag, as I made sure it could cope with its requirements.
The only downside to me is Quickbooks which I understand is very popular (I don't use that I use Sage). Sage hasn't given me any grief at all, so in terms of what will/won't work, I'd suggest its the software developers who haven't got their acts together and they had plenty of time to do so (18 months plus).
I've had no problem either with networking as I changed my router at the same time.
