rsvr ohlins shock

#1 Post by IsleFalco » Wed Oct 24, 2007 3:11 pm

The rsvr shock I bought from twin nut is now installed. With the ride height adjusted right down the ride height is still increased by 17mm. I have not had the chance to test ride it yet, ut I know that this is going to quicken up the steering. Has anyone else done this mod? What results did you get?

Falco9 did the conversion on what was my bike, its good as well, but it does make it a bit more nervous at the front.

Hi Trev,
How are you M8? keeping well I trust. As Gio has already said I used the Ohlins shock and raised the ride height an extra 25 mm. I loved it to bits but I did have a RSV damper fitted, so any head shakes would have been kept down, although I don't remember many (unlike the new T which shakes the bars all the time). It was certainly stable enough through that bit after Ginger Hall at speed and over the mountain section and it turned on a sixpence.

Hope you like it anyway. Hopefully catch up with you again next TT, we are staying out at Foxdale again, middle of nowhere, but the Baltic pub never shuts so we love it there!

Yep - had mine on there for quite a while now.
Suspension / handling is soooo much better - K-tech set it up for me and adjusted the forks at the same time.

I'm running at max ride height - turn-in and agility are soooo much better.

One of the best mods I've made (after ditching the OEM tyres and, from a different viewpoint, changing the sidestand)

Had a quick ride home on it and it seems OK. I have the OE swinger still; not sure whether that makes any difference.

F9, I am well. Shame we did not meet up at TT 2007. We will rectify that at TT 2008.
