Hi guys what can i expect to have to pay for 9500mile service is due in the next few weeks

I had my Falco receive it's 15,000km service (your 9500 mile one) just before Christmas. Came to be just under AU$500. They checked the tappet clearances and none of them needed changing.

I personally wouldnt bother having the valves checked unless you can hear em rattling. Ive read reports of the valves clearances staying
well within tolerances for more than 60.000 miles!

Do my own servicing though...

Hi Dave,
I seem to recall I copped a bill around the £300 mark.
I'm doing it all myself now the warranty is up, but personally I would bite the bullet and pay the man to get the stamp until then.

thisll be the last service before the warranty runs out in april so id best get the clearensses checked, after this one ill do the rest meself, with alittle help from carlos

That reminds me, have youmanaged your swingarm change yet?
I'm beginning to move away from the idea of powdercoating mine black now, prolly fill and spray it to mach the frame.

I was quoted around £350-500 depending on if shims had to be changed, I decided to do it myself. It worked out fine as the shims needed no attention and still don't after over 30k

Holy shit! I was charged £315 for the last big service. That was at Bikewise, Abingdon. It's probably gone up since then though.

Hope you're sitting down Dave!
I had the 10k service in late 2005, I got three quotes and this place was easily the cheapest at around £310! Also had gearing modified with overlength Mille DID ZVM gold chain and new sprockets and this lot cost me -
£518.07 inc. VAT
The first good news is that if you knock off the chain and sprocket costs, plus the one hour labour for that, it came down to
£313.21.
The two others were quoting in the region of £380 to £400.
The other good news was that the valve clearances didn't need adjusting, no idea how much more that would have cost at £44.06 per hour plus parts.

My first experiance with aprilia dealer service was at a large dealer near Bicester quoted £250 for the first service, I was told the valves would need checking. Ok but they didnt even remove the fuel tank let alone remove the valve covers and it left me unimpressed. What they did do was an oil and filter change, when I brought this to their attention I was refunded £150, their excuse the mechanic who did the service was a Ducati mechanic and was unfamiliar with the aprilia service schedule .
Tried again with same aprilia dealer but was still unimpressed with the result and gave up on them.
Next aprilia dealer in Oxon quoted around £85.00 and did so at very short notice nice people returned to a bill of £130. They had completed the oil change and cleaned out the front and rear brake calipers they also told me they had checked the valves and found them ok. I was impressed until I discovered the valve covers had not been removed maybe they meant the tyre pressures
Tried yet another aprilia dealer in Slough charged a lofty £450, I received an Ok service as this time they did remove the valve covers.
I have serviced my falco ever since at cost of parts and the satisfaction of knowing exactly what had been done

You will find that dealer will charge you for checking the valves yet go no where near them (are you listening D&K motorcycles

)

Rang bikewise today, £350 for a big service inc. valve check. It's a five hour job. (It does take five hours as well, I stood and watched them do my first one.)
I'm due for my 4th service now (14,000 miles) the sign came on at the weekend.
