The English and the French are doing battle once again, but in a slightly less physical fashion at the World Conker Championships.
Northamptonshire is hosting the annual event and over 300 entrants are at the village of Ashton, near Oundle - with 13 of those participating listed as French.
After losing out in the rugby on Saturday night, "The Frogs" will be hoping to salvage some sporting pride against "Les Rosbifs".
Landlady Sandie Gardner, 37, originally from Windsor but running a bed and breakfast in Abjat-sur-Bandiat, near Limoges, France, claimed the ladies' World Conker Champion crown last year.
Her home village is now the setting for the French conker championships and she forms part of the French national team.
Contestants have travelled to the UK for the 42-year-old event from as far afield as the US, Brazil, Canada and the Ukraine
