AVG is my weapon of choice too.
I used Panda, sacked it as they felt just a poor man's Norton.
Norton I sacked cos it's footprint was huge and slowed everything down and really didnt feel as 'with it' as AVG
K.I.S.S. works fine! (Keep it simple, Stupid)

Never ride faster than your guardian angel can fly
Dumped Norton because it turned the PC into a tortoise with 3 broken legs.
Using Trend (PC Cillin) on a couple of my PCs as they allow use on multiple machines.
We put AVG (free version) on my son's PC when he went to Uni. It seems to do it's job OK - might move all the PCs over to it when the license renewal comes round.
