Airbox mod out std airbox in
cans swap
chip swap
rerestrict (just in case)
belly pan off and dodgy plastic bit back on
replace original tail piece
HID out
Carbon hanger off and rear pegs on
resolder hi/low both on mod
chrome rear bulbs out
red rear lens back on
I'll leave the side stand mod
Clean till sparkly enough to eat dinner off it

Bloody hell, why can't I leave things alone.

Not gonna ride it like this or I probably wouldn't take it.

Is this just something just for Oz or does it apply the same everywhere?
A couple of years ago I was planning to go to live in Spain, (still not gone!), and had expected issues with the headlight, but not putting everything back to standard.

My plans are pretty dormant for now, had an offer of early retirement 2 1/2 years ago and had got a villa lined up 30 minutes from Valencia, 15 mins from the MotoGP track. Property was much cheaper there at that time and really good value. Plan was to have a few beds spare or some outbuildings to rent out to bikers for trackdays, or do guided tours round the area for a bit of extra income. The buggers decided not to let me go at the last minute. May get another chance and will certainly consider again, but prices there are much higher now, so have to look carefully.
Would have been great to get the Falco on some of the roads I know out there, even had some of the tours all planned out.

Why? Just seal the Eprom box. I'd not bother removing chips, (or re-restricting it) or is this so things dont get nicked on a slowboat past China?

Why? I admit I didn't look too hard at the import regulations, but I didn't see anything about restoring the bike to stock condition.

No need! All Falcos sold here were derestricted.

Mostly it's so the bike matches the picture and info on the datasheet so it won't give the customs chaps anything to groan about and smooth the process.

Probably right about not re-restricting, shouldn't make much difference.

I'll put the std chip back in to make sure it runs ok with the stock cans and doesn't screw up any emissions tests.

Emissions tests? I don't think we have them down here...

We do have noise tests, so having the stock cans on and the sticker on the frame rail (that's critical!) are essential. Apart from a general road-worthy check (lights / horn / indicators / chain tension / brakes / no oil or coolant leaks), I think you should be pretty right.

What sticker on the frame rail? We've the one on the swinger showing tyre pressures and chain tension but I don't remember seeing one on the frame.

As I've been 'away' for a while i'm not totally up to speed on this one........so as a Johnny come lately are you moving to Oz with a standard Falco and that's the way she'll stay or just to get her through the Bolt-On Gestapo?? If you are selling any bits then I'll have the HID's....
