How do I customise a link (shorten it)

BUT I still can't do it !!

Anybody prepared to provide a VERY simple walkthrough for me?

then put the web link

then put ]

then write what you want to call it ('clicky HERE' seems a favourite)

then close the link with the [] with /url in it

Another way is to find a post with a link like that and use the quote button, it shows how its done

If you go to post reply and hover over the URL button.. it gives you both the options!

Indeed it does but it only makes sense to me now I can do it. Previously it was just a random selection of letters although with more u's and t's than most
