Nice to talk to people again GLUG GLUG.

Water levels have dropped quite a bit now and just got power back up. Not much good for biking at the moment though as anythin up to 6 inches of mud on many of the roads. But if the dam breaks up the road, that should wash that lot away.
Gotta look on the bright side!

Hi Howard. I was just looking at the location of that dam to figure out where it was - although I would have thought your place was high enough to be out of danger (not so lucky some of the other poor souls though). We've just had a call at work from the police to tell us to clear anyone out of the area as they believe the dam is 'in imminent danger of collapse'. Hope for the locals sake it doesn't happen! Still, closing MeadowHell is the silver lining!!!

The Falco will take anything. Nothing can possibly be as wet as last years Falco run in Northumberland. If the dam breaks you might get an EFI message on the dash but thats bugger all, the bike will still run.

My place is OK, trouble is I'm at work in the Council Offices in the Centre of Rotheram, just at the side of the River Don! Still trying to get all IT and Telephone services back up, so we can re-open the emergency lines again and help some of the poor buggers out there.
Just got emergency lines back up in last hour, lost everything just after 1 am. When the Don came over the dual carriageway in the centre of Rotherham.

My family are all in the Sth Yorks. area (mainly Sheffield and Doncaster), so it's good to hear that the waters are receding.

As for MeadowHell, yeah, the sooner that place is washed away the better...

Well not really, but same source!

Seriously, I think somethin may be gettin worse, we have just heard that we are evacuating our offices at MAGNA down in the bottom of the valley, at the Rotherham side of Meadowhall, as they seem to think the situation with the dam is worse than yesterday. Bit strange cos the last "official" notice this morning was that they thought they had stabilised it.
The Don is just over the other side of the road from us so fingers crossed. It's still really high but at least 2 metres below the road level at the moment.
Tried for an hour to get into work by car today, (still chaotic with M1 being shut both ways at Rotherham), then gave up, went back home and got the old CBR1000 out, nothing will wash that great heavy lump away.
