As much as I'm aware of the high level of Falconeers on ARS, in order to bring sense and direction to the Site as a whole, unfortunately there's a need for postboxing things.
If a subject is of a purely technical nature, or turns into one, then it needs to go into the Aprilia Technical section.
We have a serious number of users, probably half of which arent Falconeers. If I were to come onto the Site for answer to a technical problem, I'd want to look in the Tech section to find it. It stands to reason. SO! A thread about steering dampers, although aimed more into the general direction of Falconeers will undoubtedly be applicable to Mille owners and possibly Futura and Tuono owners.
The logical slot for all that userbase to find the post is gonna be the Tech section, even for a Falconeer coming in to search for info on a falco steering dampoer, it is after all a technical topic.
By postboxing those kinds of thread, it forms a much more organised archive of information to look thru. The last thing I intend to have (selfish old me, eh) is to have other people, those from dare i say it, Af1 or other forums coming on here and slating my Moderators and fellow admin staff for keeping a bag of shite site.
I feel no need to have to clarify the location of threads, The headings are clearly marked and available. ' I'll run over them though quickly:
General' ... Hmm maybe a press release from Aprilia about a new range, discussion on nondescript stuff like Aprilia merchandise, even brolly dollies. Who knows.
'Falco' .. As it says on the tin, talk about falcos.. 'Yeah I changed the colour of my clock surround dont it look great,, somewhere to rant and wax lyrical about the joys of being a Falconeer, your own model home on ARS.
Mille/Tuono .. same as..
Technical ... somewhere to put topics of a technical nature, regardless of which model. Eventually over time it will form a great resource much as the old site did, but in a more organised manner.
Similarly if I feel, or others feel a subject deserves a wider audience, it may get moved across onto RS too. All ARS members have the use of RS, however some of RS, the majority, wont have access to ARS by default. (it maintains ARS as a separate entity) I try to avoid doing this as it merges the two sides even more, but sometimes I feel it may be of great benefit to the outside community. The latest bike trip that was undertaken as an example.
Ultimately I have a duty of care to the Site (ARS, or RS as applicable) as a whole and doing things that will benefit the Site and not just individuals.
If however there's a problem, then do bring it up, it's what ARS / RS does. 'It's what you make it' (with a little bit of guidance by the Gestapo...

If at any time you are unsure where to reasonably post something, PM one of the Mods in the first instance, then if they aint any help, ask Hamms or myself
There are a few tech subjects sat in the Falco forum at the mo. No doubt they will move too. I tend to leave them a day or two before moving, Im sure the mods do the same

You mean Aprilia make other models besides the Falco?!
Jeezus! Are they any good though? The Falco appears to have all bases covered!!

If you'd care to peruse the layout of the archive site, you'll see the forums quite clearly laid out in a set design for incorporating posts.
I cant comment on the old forum's administration, mainly due to a lack of it. It was partly the reason that that old site lost it's commercial backing, Im quite certain you will find.
The fact the old moderation team werent doing their job is no reason to assume that once the site migrated it would continue in that same manner, far from it. There is active administration.
Whether you accept that is entirely up to you.
Your post seems a bit childish really. 'ooh remove my swearing...'
No point really is there, you've done it yourself already

On a serious note - what are we supposed to chat about on Falco forum? If you look closely everything about a device like a motorbike is technical...
Just look at the titles:
-speedo sensor
-trip to...[OK this one's fine]
-rear brake switch
-rearset options
-dyno figures
-two car insurance [where to fit this one???]
-on and onandonandon....
