RC8 delivered today !

First things first, get the insurance sorted,
Had to cancel the Falco insurance and re arrange a multi bike policy, I was paying 147 TPFT on the falco, now paying 303 that on both bikes, administration fee of 59 ( sorry this keyboard does not have a quid symbol only $ ).
I am happy with that, so if it is not pissing down tomorrow you my dear neighbours will hear what the RC8 sounds like !
First impressions , the KTM is a lot smaller and lighter than the Falco, not at all bad news for a short arse racing snake like me.

Really impressed that just about everything is adjustable on this bike, , height of levers,footrests, length of travel on gear change , height of clip ons,toe and heel guards and anything else I have yet to discover in the manual...

I hope it's as good as it looks!

I walked into the (not very) local KTM dealer recently but couldn't get the time of day out of the salesmen. No KTMs for me.

Yeah, that means they've really thought about the rider's needs.

I'm envious, but in a fully supportive kinda way...

I got out for about two hours today, nowhere near as long as I would have liked !
What a little gem of a bike !
The best way to describe it is like an 'evolved' Falco, both similar and different to each other, the RC8 puts the power down in a smoother way,handling and braking are light years ahead of the falco,riding position is perfect, no strain on the wrists !
Yes, the seat is made of concrete but it has been dusted with icing sugar to make it comfy !
The only fault I noticed was at the end of the ride,putting the bike back in the shed needs some lock to lock manoeuvres, my hands hit the bottom of the mirrors....fettling needed there.
Will have to get used to having a very warm right foot, the very loud can providing the underfloor heating.
Nowhere near as grumpy as a Falco to ride through town and traffic, very nimble but heats up as fast as it's Italian relative when moving slowly.
All my parts arrived today so more fettling to be done.

Ok, starting to get concerned now. If you tell me the bike's got a 160 mile tank range I know what my next bike will be!

Unless of course the Tuono GT comes out first :)

The tank range is on the list of ' Grown Up ' things to do.
TBH I am having way too much fun to worry about the academics.
Take one out for a test ride, I love but you may hate it.
I have only just over two hours of flying time so I have not discovered all there is to know with this LeiderHosen wearing hooligan

Yes, this is starting to get worrying. I only just escaped unscathed with a few grumpy remarks when I bought the Duke 690 R. Any more orange in my life and I'm a dead man...

I love the look of the rc8. Black and orange would be my choice.

Fitting the crash bungs to the frame is turning out to be a bit of a bugger, trying to mark where to drill the angular fairing is nowhere near as easy as the instructions make out . as the saying goes 'Measure twice, cut once'
Old Mrs Weather is happy to interrupt me, the shed is not big enough for serious work.
It can't rain forever !

Have you tried marking it from the inside then drill a pilot hole, its how I fitted crash bungs on my blackbird.
