Track day highside

#1 Post by Foxstein » Mon Jul 30, 2018 6:56 pm

Well it had to happen sooner or later, cadwell and Mansfield bend, lean, lean more , no grip sound of metal on tarmac grip, fly, land on left buttock and both heels smash into tarmac. Ouch.
Damage to Falco unbelievably light.Bruising on left buttock"unbelievable Jeff"
Repair list to get back on road
right front indicator
Right handlebar
Both brake levers
Right foot peg
What do they make these Aprilias out of, how a bike can be going round a left hand bend then throw itself into its right side with this level of damage is quite remarkable.
Other damage, might need the whole footrest assembly, scratched the fairing, and dented the end can. Didn't even smash a mirror.
Best places to get bits from would be much appreciated.
Cheers guys.
Will add pics if I knew how

Ouch - hope the bruising heals quick and you get the Falco fixed up OK.

Try Griffin at Aprilia Performance, he may have a few std bits left over when folk come in for upgrades.
Bindit Bike spares break a lot of RSV's and the like, the usual ebay trawl etc .
Hope you both mend soon

Ouch again, as for what do they make Aprilias from, I'd hazard a guess and say Ementhal. Aprilias are the modern 2 wheeled version of the 1960's Lotus F1 cars.

Hope you heal fast anyway, and its only a bike.

Ah it was you was it?

My mate who was on crutches said a Falco had been smashed up there and had been talking to you.

He was wiped out by a car on his Falco a few weeks ago, we are in the process of rebuilding it.
Tolerance will be our undoing.

Cheers guys, so far I've got the levers sorted, and have managed to glue indicator back on. So far so good. Handlebar is a bit of a pain, as there is one on eBay for 60 odd pounds, which seems a lot but will probably bite the bullet and get it.
