Ridersite Closure April 2018 - almost but still here

#1 Post by Jake » Tue Apr 17, 2018 7:15 am

Hi All

I've been trying to contact admins etc for some time now and I have had no response from PMs either.
Therefore, I need to post this here for you.

The next hosting bill for this forum is due on 24th April 2018 and I am still owed for October 2017
I have asked Lexiconn to place the account on hold when payment is due. The forum will then be inaccessible.
This will give you 30 days to decide if you want to take any action.

I am sorry, I can't afford to pay for it, there is no company behind this now, it comes out my personal pocket!
Jan
aka Jake (for those of you who don't know me, I am one of the original members and creators of Ridersite)

If not here, you can contact me by email at **removed by Jake, please PM instead**

Hi Everyone

Sorry I've not been about much lately. Life has been hectic on many fronts and I've not had time to get on any bike forums.

Even more sorry that I've let people down by missing the need for payments.
I am pleased to say that I've paid the outstanding bill but another will be due any time now .... and our kitty is down to a tenner plus a few pence.

Last year, we did kick off an activity to control our own destiny from a hosting point of view. Unfortunately, I think that those involved also ran into time-pressure problems and that activity stalled.
Sounds as though e need to get out the jump-leads and get it running again and then make some judgement on the continued viability of the site (to be honest, I have little understanding of the current level of forum activity).

I've bunged in a bit to help, is it possible to show how much is still needed to hit the mark?

Thanks Dale
We are (now) up to date with payments but will be getting a new bill soon.
When I know, I'll let you know.
I expect the amount will not be so hard for us to hit - nothing like the backlog that had built up when Pete and I picked up sorting it out.

Thanks chaps for chipping in - I've bunged in a bit too and the kitty is now over £100 - so I think we can tide ourselves through for the moment

Can I take it that you wish me to renew the hosting as of tomorrow?
