YeeehaaaHH!
So, preparing the bike was a priority - I got the forks stripped, cleaned and rebuilt last week, then the suspension setup was completed by Race Lab down here in Wimborne. The ride back was interesting with suspension that finally worked..
I got the bike home with the plan to check the throttle bodies and fuelling, ran it into the garage and proceeded to drop the bike as I hadn't checked that the paddock stand was properly engaged on the lifting bobbins. What a fucker! The biggest fucker came when I looked at lifting the bike up but realised that it as jammed under the (raised) bike table and I couldn't get anywhere enough leverage to lift it. I had to use the ceiling hoist to pull it up. Net result both mirror mounts broken, brake pedal bent, exhaust twisted but no other damage.
Once I'd finished my personal expletive dialogue I dug around in my parts box and found an old RS125 mirror mount and used that then glued the broken parts of the other two mounts back together in the hope that one would prove useable. That's still to be proven ...
Today I synchronised the TBs - well, as best I could as my vacuum gauges wouldn't resolve the differences that adjusting the bleed screws made, so I just went with factory values. I had to reset the TPI as well as I'd had that loose throttle flap thing last week and as a result it was showing -1, now it's back to 0. I rechecked the vacuums and nothing had changed.
So far so good .. Then came the trim pots on the ECU. With the Forza chip I'd left the pots at 12 o'clock, but it was really rich at idle, so I dusted off the gas analyser and had a look - as it was set I had a CO reading over 4 on both cylinders so a couple of tweaks on the pots got me back to 2.5% and a lovely steady idle. Happily it was just the same when I reinstalled the air box cover..
Last jobs tonight will be straightening the brake pedal and refit the mirrors.
Must remember to set my alarm for the morning!
Thruxton tomorrow...!!

You don't get a warm-up lap for life...
Well, If I'm honest I probably rode like shit - this is the first 'fast riding' I've done since my Cadwell Catastrophe (which didn't end well at all..), but things improved as I went on, with the psyche probably the most improved.
The bike was awesome - plenty fast enough and since having the suspenders sorted it just did everything I needed it to do, it was so good in fact that I didn't think once about the suspension...
The high point for me was when one of the other guys in my group said I was leaving phenomenal black stripes out of certain corners.. boosh!
