I don't want to alarm either of you gents unduly, but could this be a case of ethanol in fuel breaching the plastic and causing the paint to bubble. If you can I'd have a good look at the inside of the tank. If you can get hold of one of those fibre optic cameras on a bendy stick type things, that could really help.

I know they come up occasionally in Aldi/Lidl at not silly prices (the fibre optic cameras, not Falco tanks) so might be worth keeping an eye out...

It could have been a visit from the Nitromors fairy, of course.

Not sure if that really helps... :smt004

As parts of the fairing are now blistering and cracking ( and pint worn through to white base ) it would seem to be naff paint :smt009

Bit of a no-win situation, that one. At least you don't need to buy a new tank.

Just a new paint-job... :smt012

I hate it when people ask if you have a bathroom, I want to say "No we pee in the garden"

.... but did I also read somewhere that Super has no ethanol in it?

ahhhh

here's a quote from Tesco's Q&A bit,,

Q: How much ethanol is in Tesco petrol?

Petrol sold in the UK must conform to BS EN 288 British Standards. This allows up to 5% ethanol in petrol. Tesco fully complies with these standards with the ethanol content of our fuels varying from 0 - 4.8% depending on the location and supplier.

And then there's this thread from our RSV cousins..

I could get all the plastics resprayed for a lot less than that and would never have to admit to owning a yellow thing !
