Looking for another Falco
Well, after selling my beloved Falco just over two years ago, I finally now have the finances, space and time again to get myself another bike.
I've been looking around at options - wanting to stick with the 1000 V twin Sports/Sports Tourer format if possible:
VTR1000 - poor range
SP1/SP2 - love them but too pricy and a bit too focused
SV1000 - cheap finish
TL1000R/S - over priced and a bit "fat"
Ducatis - too costly to maintain
Aprilia RSV - tempting
Aprilia Falco - seems to be the logical solution yet again!
So, unless anyone has any other options, I am back in the market for another Falco, upto about £2k and not needing major work. What do people have for sale?

Would probably let mine go for 2K. Was going to hold on to it for another year or two, now that it has a lowish mileage "big valve" motor in. It is a little surplus to requirements these days, has sensible mods and standard parts etc. had one careful owner and another maybe not so...but probably good for another 100K. There is another listing somewhere for the bits I was looking to sell off. Only the Oz wheels and quick action throttle went. The ones Andy posted up look more likely bagains. I'd rather keep mine than go much lower than 2k though. Has new tires and radiators so thats £400, motor was £250 plus the work, the reconed ohlins shock got tobe another £250, Ventura luggage, Baglux tank cover etc. etc.
Don't put off 'till tomorrow what you can enjoy today
I currently don't have the time or kit to do more than basic work on my bikes - what would a service or belt change cost on a Ducati if I was to go to a decent mechanic?Falco Frank wrote:Cant agree on the Ducati conclusion...
My ST4s has only ever cost me basic consumables......
But, just like my Falco - Its me that had to fanny on with it!
Full service + a belt change would be between £400-£600 depending on the dealer.Sleepyboy wrote:I currently don't have the time or kit to do more than basic work on my bikes - what would a service or belt change cost on a Ducati if I was to go to a decent mechanic?Falco Frank wrote:Cant agree on the Ducati conclusion...
