Re: new rubber
Need more info. I've had Diablo's fitted for the last year and a half and I reckon they're the best tyre I've ever and that includes Bridgestones, Michelins and Dunlops. Don't know what issues you had with the Diablo's but personally i wouldn't now fit anything else.gazman wrote:well after dismal time with the" great" pirelli diablo corsas, have changed back to d208's.always liked these tyres.dosent it always feel good havin new rubber.will never use pirelli again.
how many miles have you done?i had them for about a year.usually on prev bikes and tyres i have had when you get to certain level(tread) you know lean, wet etc are ever decreasing but still safe.on these tyres you get to a certain point and blam, thats it,feels like there is nothing there at all.confidence gone.
Horse's for courses I believe.
IMO Dialbo's are awesome tyres, good wear for me, loads and loads of traction, done 2 trackdays and 8 laps of the Nurburgring on mine (inc 1 wet lap), plus a good few thousand fast road miles.
As for Dunlop's, I had 208's on my CBR, and they were terrible, used to track all over the road, shocking performance in wet, just no confidence.
I would swear by Diablo's for the Falco every time, shame they didn't work for you though fella

All go, no show........AKA the tractor
I when for the pilot powers for my bird after I'd had enough of the mez3's although I did do one track day on them, didn't know any different then, but now I would have to say the pp's are great fast tip in lots of grip and seem to last ok, have thought about the diablos though maybe try some next time,
that will have to be after the bridgestones, as I picked up a battleaxe bt002 for 100 bucks new
anyone tried these on there Falco?

I think everyone should ride a bike thats a 60's one and the type of rubber available then for a few thousand miles.
Then any modern tyre would feel fantastic regardless if they were 100 mile track slicks or Metzler 2's (concrete tyres).
I like the Diablo's on the Falco, but the best I had and I ragged them something horrible were the D56's on the CB500, 8k rear and 12k front, stuck like limpets on steroids regardless of the road surface.

So were you weaned on Avon Speedmaster MkIIs and Dunlop K70s then Gio? People joke about em now, but I had fond memories of them as they were ther first "good bike tyres" and we didn't know any better. Seem to remember I used to wear the footpeg rubbers out pretty well on my old Matchless 650 CSR and Triumph Tiger 110. (OK I know they were low in those days). The only one I couldn't ground was the Paul Dunstall Norton 650 SS, but that had much higher rearsets. Then again my balls were much bigger in those days, more worried about loosing them these days.Gio wrote:I think everyone should ride a bike thats a 60's one and the type of rubber available then for a few thousand miles.
