Can anyone lend me a shock?

#1 Post by Dalemac » Sat Mar 05, 2016 7:56 am

Hi,

I need to get my shock out soon for a rebuild and a respray, but I don't have a spare. Does anyone have one that they would be willing to lend me for a month or so, while the shock is being sorted out?

Cheers,

Dale

Cheers guys! I'm in Lincoln.

It wouldn't be a problem for most, but the Falco is my only vehicle! Suppose I'll have to grow up soon and buy a metal box as well.

Actually Andy, I'll be seeing my mum on Thursday - she is coming up from Coventry to Doncaster for a family funeral. If it's convenient, maybe she could swing by at some point before then and pick up one of your many spares?

When mine has been sorted, I'll pop your spare back down, along with some beer/petrol tokens.

Thanks!

Dale

Trouble is Andy is in Australia... I have a standard blue one you could borrow for a bit. I'm near Market Harborough. I'd want it back at some point in case I need to out the bike back to standard.

Andy is back on Monday night / Tuesday

I have 4 blue crappy ones as well...

Let's face it, you wouldn't go to a nurse to get good advice on a problem with a Falco - you'd choose an Engineer or a mechanic...

Yes I landed back in UK about 6 am today.
Crikey it's cold!

Had to go straight in to work but I'll dig about in the garage for one as soon as I get the chance (might not be tonight as it's already been 38 hrs and counting since I last saw a bed - but hopefully I'll remember tomorrow night)

Dale,
I have a lightly used one, (the only one I have), and I am not too far from you.
It is yours for as long as you need it.
I am in the middle of a kitchen refurb at the moment, but may be able to have a day off and a run out to Lincoln to deliver to you.
Is there anybody at home to collect, while you are at work?

Let me know as soon as, if needed.

Cheers ......................... Howard

I'd just like to say a huge thank you to Howard, who has not only lent me a shock, but also very kindly dropped it off to me today.

Thanks as well for everyone who offered - greatly appreciated. You lot are a great bunch :)

So, this weekend looks like I'll be ripping the Falco's rear end apart, replacing the shock with one Howard has lent me, sending mine off for a service and powder coating, and replacing the swingarm for the Mille unit as well.

Thanks again to Howard, and everyone else who was willing to lend me a shock :)

Two from the house falco's and others were left by folk after I had upgraded their shocks for them....

They didn't want them....

I have at least 3 of the things too.

One day there will be a demand for them and Pete and I will have cornered the market
