My round I believe

#1 Post by petecarlton » Sun Jun 28, 2015 2:51 am

Hi, just joined having got myself a nice black 04 Futura - five weeks in and I'm still smiling. Mind you, I'd be laughing if I could find some proper panniers. In the meantime, trebles all round! :smt006

Welcome mate

Let's face it, you wouldn't go to a nurse to get good advice on a problem with a Falco - you'd choose an Engineer or a mechanic...

Bonjour.

Welcome to the forum mate.

The panniers are quite rare unfortunately, although they do come up.

Keep looking on the for sale section on AF1.

I have a futura too which is a great bike.

Learn how to check the oil on these bikes, which will be on a thread on here somewhere.

How many miles has the bike got, and have you got some photo's?

Finally run the bike on super unleaded to prevent the tank swelling, and do you know if the King baring has been re greased since it was first installed.
Tolerance will be our undoing.

Thank you all. Dry, medium or sweet sherry? :smt002

Not sure about King bearing, will defo keep a check on oil (I do out of habit) and will take the advice re fuel (thanks Blinkey).

Sorry to be thick, but how do I add pix on this forum - do I have to upload elsewhere first and add url or is there an attachment button I'm missing? Large malt for best answer!

Hello and welcome from an ex-Futura owner. Had mine nearly 7 years - splendid bike, very, very reliable, fun to ride. Sorry to see it go, but encroaching spazziness made it necessary.

As it's that time of day, I'll join you in a large glass of Palo Cortado.

I've been on the Doom Bar this afternoon so I'll have another, thanks!

I don't have a Futura - I don't have any kind of Aprilia, in fact I don't even have a bike!

Palo Cortado it is Mar, good choice. And just as well you haven't got a bike Gran if you're spending your time in the Doom Bar :smt002

I'd take Matt up on the parts I believe he had one of the rare combined pipe and skipper racks

A pint it is. I'm assuming that was a pipe and slipper rack?
