H A wannabees

#1 Post by lazarus » Mon May 18, 2015 8:11 am

We dont have the same criminal biker gangs in the UK as in the US.. Merely wannabees . Saw a bunch yesterday on Penarth prom - laughable really. Maybe 20 all told, every one was on a Harley ( ironic when the HA started on Triumph) , every one with illegal exhaust and plate, every one dressed completely in black with no high vis, and every one scowling fiercely at the walkers on the footpaths. Riding side by side in formation. Probably some ladies hairdressers amongst them but clearly they fancied themselves as real hard "dudes".

Didnt see if they were a "patch" club

Didnt know whether to laugh at them or feel sorry for them. But at least and unlike their US role models, there arent 9 dead in a brawl with another gang.

Oh believe me, they're more than 'wannabes'. Once you've been on the wrong side of a large organisation like that, you'll understand. There is an element of "Son's of Anarchy" about some of the newer ones and they don't really hold much standing in the great scheme of things.. Mere foot-soldiers with an attitude problem. However, cross some of the 'real' ones, and you'll know about it.

The real ones don't- in my experience - pose

Let's face it, you wouldn't go to a nurse to get good advice on a problem with a Falco - you'd choose an Engineer or a mechanic...

Exactly..
Things have been (reasonably) harmonious since Windsor and England merged into England HA. Still the odd murder or few
The HA and any other outlaw club do not tolerate wannabe's, posers, part time bad asses.
HA have a club pub near here, I dont go there

To be fair, they're not too bad.. Unless you're on the wrong side. I don't go out of my way to be pally pally, but neither to I try to piss them off either. We had a lot of trouble with the Outlaws a few years ago.. A time in life that I'd rather not have to repeat in a hurry.

I met some French members of one of the well known groups and while I'm sure they could be just as uncouth they certainly had a touch of the male model about them.

Funny you should say that. I am seeing a lot more riders in dayglo orange these days - has it suddenly become the fashion.

Don't think so but they are probably the geeks who've read the reports that say that dayglo orange is the most visible colour.

But only if the driver actually looks, of cours.
