Ohlins fork clipon choice

#1 Post by control_67 » Sun Mar 22, 2015 4:05 pm

I've had my Ohlins on the falco for a couple of years now, using shimmed falco clipons as the RSVR ones fouled the fuse box and clock mount, although I did prefer their lower height. I've never been fully happy with the shimmed clipons, and they are looking a little tired now with scuffed paint and whatnot. I have considered renthals, but the reduced offset ones have basically the same length tube as the standards, and the gen 1 ones have a bigger offset so look like they would give me even less steering lock.

So what are the other Ohlins forked folk on here using, ideally I'd like something a little lower than stock falco, and perhaps a little wider.

Sorry - I use shimmed Falco ones too.

Shimmed FALCO one here!

Will be looking a left clip on soon once rebuild begins.

Why use lower than standard if they are only going too restrict steering? I picked mines up with miles on and it was horrible.
if you can't ride it....
OR take it too bed...

IT AIN'T WORTH HAVIN...

I guess I just liked the feel of lower bars, it was just they needed another 10-20mm length on them to let the master cylinders clear everything, hence wanting a clip on with a longer tube/more width. Maybe not even as low as the RSVR bars, somewhere in between could also work.

Erm, another user of shimmed falco clipons, signing in - sorry!

But, very happy after I converted to Woodcraft clipons for my radial forks, Bike Torque racing offered great advice and went the extra mile for me, their clipons page should be here:
