So I got busy in the spray booth and will shortly be dazzling the good folk of Nottingham with a shiny.... VERY shiny Signor Falco in Lamborghini Balloon White.
Never used a gun before but it's worked out OK. Just a couple.of runs in the clear coat to fix.
The stoved red wheels by Bigun were starting to flake so have been repaired and are now anthracite, which will match the side panels (yet to do).
It'll be a couple.of weeks before it's back together but can't wait.

Yes - I'm a member of the local Hackspace where there's a portable compressor, cheapo gun and a (mostly filtered) spray booth.
Mm
The original silver was ok except for the tank which had crazed badly. So 600 gritted the lot, sanded out the badges, filled where necessary.
There's two coats of high build 2k primer, 3 off-white base coat, 2 pearl midcoat and 3 of the 2k clearcoat. It's all ended up rather dandy considering I'd never used a spraygun before. For the 3 basecoats I only just scraped by with 1 litre of paint.
I've yet to see it in daylight - right now it needs a few days to harden then I can 1500 grit any ripples and runs out before buffing it back up to glass.
Dust was of course a constant problem, even in a filtered spray booth but I'm pleased with it.
Sat waiting for a set of Fuel Carbon Diablo shorties to arrive courtesy of Brittany Ferries! They should set it off nicely.

I got bored so pimped my lights.
They are 10w LEDs and drivers - pumping out nearly as many lumens as a cheap H7 bulb.
There are plenty of cars with brake lights that are uncomfortable to sit behind... well it's payback time.
I just need to rig a resistor & diode to drop the voltage for the normal running and we're good

That is going to be one lovely looking Falco! As the others have said, please post pics of the finished product.
It's the V-twin thing. There's just something about it that inline-4s don't have at all, and V-4s don't have enough of.

Hi all,
Guess any company that produces carbon for the falco will be limited anyway. Seeing as not even 400 units were shipped to the UK. Worldwide figures aren't that great either. Financially could be for a smaller company or individual. Having produced the rear light lens l can backup my statement. Maybe a falco-friendly rider who works in that environment could provide a variety of pieces . Nooj is working on a carbon tank. Just cost is the key per item due to limited nunbers....
My warranty is the clear/smoked tail lights around the corner!!

Greg .... have you not been following the tank discussion?
They are happening and the costs aren't huge (for what you get).
We've already got enough committed to this to make sure that the Oasis Green Falcos are still somewhat more rare than the other colours .... including the carbon ones!
