Cheap Falco for sale

#1 Post by ReggieGasket » Mon Feb 16, 2015 9:31 am

Hi everyone. I'm sad to say I'm going to try to sell my Red Falco (I know, last time I tried I couldn't do it).

It's now standard except for legal pipes. It's solid mechanically and the tyres and suspension are in good shape (both been done). Rides perfect. Will have 12 months MOT. It's a bit scruffy though. There's evidence of a low speed spill before I got it. Also, the sender for the speedo packed up last year (it's showing about 26k, which should be a few k higher).

The bike owes me nothing - I bough it around 2008. I'd love to see it go to an enthusiast and will accept any reasonable offer from someone on the forum. I'm guessing it's worth around £1k? You can text me on 07792 176922, but please no time wasters.

Great bike, but I do a short commute these days and need a smaller bike.

Kind regards, Giles

Perhaps a couple of pictures would help?

Dale

Hi Reggie - sorry to hear you are parting company with the Falco and we never got to meet up for a ride. Stay in touch though. Hope you get fixed up with a suitable replacement.

Hi Dave, there may be an opportunity when I get the Falco MOTed. I'll probably fall in love with again (I'm commuting on the CB over winter) :smt003

This is the bike:

I'll take some appropriate ones this week :smt001

Those pics looked 100% appropriate for a falc !
You know you will be heartbroken if you sell it, and you know the only thing to replace it would be another one, the bike owes you nothing so keep it and be dead chuffed to own a modern classic, soon will be irreplaceable.

Hi Giles,

Looks a great bike for the money. I've got a mate I'm trying to coax back onto 2 wheels, and this would be perfect. He's cash-strapped and doesn't want something perfect, but doesn't want a dog either. What tyres does it have on it, and what have you done to the suspension? Also, are the zorsts in the trackday pics still on the bike, or will it have standard boat anchors on it?

Cheers, Graham.

HI Graham. Could be ideal. The tyres are recent Michelin 2CT. Suspension is 100% standard, but the forks have been rebuilt and the shock is a low mileage one. Yes, happy to leave those exhausts on. The belly pan is off at present, but still have it. I'd do it up myself, but I'm too busy at work right now and stressed out :smt010 .

Just wish I had some money :( I can do a nice line in house furnishings though ;)
For the avoidance of doubt and for the benefit of my wife, not everything I may say here will be absolutely true I may on ocassion embellish a little for effect.
That said when it comes to motorbikes, I like to ride side saddle with a nice frock

Oh man at that price I'm feeling a twitch in my wallet.

I'll keep my eye on it for when I'm back in the UK

Are you coming home Dale?

Does that mean your sentence is nearly over?

I am on the way home for a while, my old man has dementia and I need to use my powers of attorney to take care of his financial and legal affairs.

I've earmarked 6 months in the UK before I go back to Oz.

Sorry to hear about your dad Dale ... I have similar issues with my mum - but at least I'm not right around the other side of the world.
It'd be good to bump into you again if opportunity arises while you are over here.

My local service place tells me the sprag clutch needs doing, so I'll be keeping the bike a bit long I suspect :smt011
