selling up

#1 Post by zoidberg » Tue Jan 27, 2015 11:49 am

How much can I reasonably expect for my 01 black falco.

18k miles RSV rear shock, steering damper, k&n filter genuine Aprilia racing exhausts. Forza eeprom belly pan and double bubble screen new tyres on it too.

I also have a set of hagon fork springs I've not fitted.

I've found that most Falco's will sell for £2k (advertise for a bit more and get haggled down) any day of the week, much more than that and they sit for ages, less and you're selling it for too little.

Put it in the trader and MCN though not on ebay, you get a better class of buyer :)

Why are you selling, if you don't mind me asking?

I've done 1000 miles since I've had her, she's brilliant but I don't get time.

So may as well let someone else enjoy her..

Wait a month or so and you should get more for the old girl. Gives you time to reconsider, as well...

Or to strip the bits and offer them out ... Just saying.... ;)
For the avoidance of doubt and for the benefit of my wife, not everything I may say here will be absolutely true I may on ocassion embellish a little for effect.
That said when it comes to motorbikes, I like to ride side saddle with a nice frock

It's too good a bike to strip it, I couldn't do it.

I'll wait til weather warms up a touch to advertise. Tbh I'm in two minds.

It's not worth alot so I'm tempted just to have it sat there for couple k, and just put a few miles a yar on it. if it was worth more I wouldn't hesitate.

I wondered how long it would be before the vultures started circling...

I would have had that if I hadn't just bought one a month ago. Looks better than mine!!!

I don't think it will ever be worth much less if it is kept clean and tidy so I would keep it if I was you and use it when you can.

Near whitescar caves eh?

You've some good roads around you. I always enjoy the run through to caton I've embarrassed sports ikes through. There.

Run from Devils to kendal is good too, also through to Hawks from you etc...

Makes me want to keep the bike thinking about them routes ;)

Yes, some good routes.

During the summer I quite often go from Ingleton, Kendal, Levens, Newby Bridge, Hawkshead, Ambleside and stop for some tea at Grasmere, then back thru Bowness and over the tops back to Kendal and Home.

Been doing that route on a 1980 XS1100 Yam but it will be a bit different on the Falco this year whilst I give the XS a rest.

Went on the Falco last Saturday, bloody thing keeps wanting to show 3 digits on the speedo for some reason :smt002 I'll have to calm it down somehow.
