Continuing "Background Mode"
I know I've been very much in the background lately and it's likely to stay that way for the time being.
I'll certainly pop up from time to time and am still around to be PM'd with questions.
As you know, 16 yrs ago, my wife contracted breast cancer ... which was sorted at the time.
Then 3 and a half years ago, it came back as a secondary breast cancer (incurable) - sited in her lung. She's responded very well to treatment to control it.
Yesterday it was confirmed that a new area of secondary cancer has been found in her lung. We are fortunate that it is just the one new site and it's not yet gone anywhere else in her body ..... but, of course, it's definitely bad news.
We're still waiting to hear how they will treat it - though it will probably be "radical radiotherapy".
I'll give occasional updates but I hope this will help everyone understand that my continuing "low profile" is because I'm needed to give support elsewhere.
Cheers everyone.

Very sorry to hear that Andy, I naively assumed that the cancer had stayed in remission. Not really sure what to say that hasn't already been said, but Joy, you and the lads are in our thoughts.
I'm sure you've done all sorts of reading about this, but has Joy tried a completely dairy-free diet? I've heard from a number of sources that doing that can sometimes arrest the cancer.

So sorry to hear the news Andy, all the best to Joy and the lads, hope it gets sorted.
I lost my parents to cancer and when Terri had her problem with it 14 years ago, it looked bad, but she's been clear now for 14 years, and we've done everything we can together ever since. We take lot's of hols and enjoy them, whilst we can, cos money aint doing much in the bank. You'll probably laugh, but I even spent the price of a new bike on a small touring caravan late last year, so we can take even more hols this year.
Enjoy everything whilst you can is our motto.
All the best again from Terri and myself, (we will be back home in the cold on Thurs).
