Hi all.

fitted a scott oiler and doing the usual fluids over crimbo. Yesterday l was very, very naughty and went on fleebay as you do, seen a half decent ZX12R in devon. It will be in my garage by the w/end

Too many things going right now. The bikes are being neglected a bit.

Then yesterday I notice that the side stand on the Capo is loose. I can't believe how stupid I was (yes, yes I can!) for not seeing it...anyway, of the three screws, two were loose and the third was not there at all.

I replaced the two remaining and the missing third with stainless items I picked up at the local hardware store. The two remaining showed no evidence of thread lock, even though the service manual specifically states that Loctite 243 is to be used.

The Capo is now sporting three new stainless steel socket head screws adorned not only with a nice dab of 243, but also spring lock washers.

The winter fettle is already upon me (not the Falco, the VFR), hastened by the knowledge that the RH fork leg had blown its seal and was pumping oil out over forks, fairing belly pan, mudguard etc. The stanchions are being picked up on Friday to be rechromed (pitting is clearly the issue) and will be away for an estimated 12 weeks (!). So no Viffing until the end of Feb at the earliest...

Also engaged in winter fettle, new clutch slave cylinder to be fitted, forks to be rebuilt, tons of stainless steel fasteners to be sourced.
Falco deffo not tucked up for winter, just being treated like pride and joy,being spared the worst of crap weather.

Been patching up the poor girl after hitting a cat last week.

Didn't fall down, but the furry bastard broke the oil cooler. At 2am. On the other side of town from home.

It's been an interesting (and f**king expensive) few days.

Final chapter on the exhaust install tonight, going to re-locate the indicators to the rear light pod, there is just enough room to fit them and have them looking correct from the rear.

If all goes well and it's not raining tomorrow I will ride the bike into work which should be a decent test, at least I will be able to open her up on a dual carrigeway, hopefully some pics will follow.

Then it will go quiet for the winter.

Not the picture I was going to post but so pleased with an hours work I thought I would put this in.

If I had known how easy the rear light pod came away I would have had no worries at all the acces for fitting the indicators was piece of cake.

BMW SORN'd. Just fitted heated grips to the XT to make my winter outings easier on the hands. Planning a new bike shed/garage to give me more space to fettle as there's just not enough room at the moment with two motor bikes, 4 bicycles, a freezer, ladders and various DIY tools.
