She's left me!
After a six and a half year relationship, my Futura has now left for its new home in Coventry.
It's been a splendid 6 1/2 years, the bike's always done whatever I've asked of it, without complaint, and has never failed me. Had I not chosen to buy it, instead of the Triumph Sprint I'd gone to see at Speedaway Bikes, just because it looked so much better, I'd never have come into contact with you lot, or with many other friends I've made since. I'm more than sorry to see it go, but needs must - these degenerative back conditions have progressed quicker than I expected, and have started to affect my legs, so the Futura's become too top-heavy for me to feel confident with it. I'd never have let it go if these issues hadn't forced me into this decision.
Anyway, onwards and upwards. I'm about to start the hunt for another bike; a Griso is a serious contender. I intend keeping the California, as it's well-equipped with luggage and cool shiny bits.
As for the immediate future - I've just opened a sherry I've not tried before. Please join me in a drink to the Futura - may you be happy in your new home. And a further drink to the joys and comradeship of biking.

It flies sideways through time
It's an electric line
To your zodiac sign
I've got a Black and Silver Machine!

I'll join you in a drink Mart and it'll be a cheap round as I've just opened a bottle of cheap white wine so no need to buy one. Anyway cheers its a shame to sell on a bike that's made you so many good friends but looking to the future I'm sure the california will put you in touch with some equally friendly fellows.

I don't care if you lick windows,
Take the special bus
Or occasionally pee on yourself.
You hang in there sunshine, you're special!

Not sure sending it to Coventry is a fair way to reward such loyal service but I won't judge you... At least not whilst you're buying
Sherry and coke please seeing as you've already opened the bottle

For the avoidance of doubt and for the benefit of my wife, not everything I may say here will be absolutely true I may on ocassion embellish a little for effect.
That said when it comes to motorbikes, I like to ride side saddle with a nice frock

She's now securely tucked away in the heated workshop with her new companions. It's always sad to see a member of the family fly the nest to explore new pastures. But, like most, she'll be over for a visit when the weather picks up and her new custodian requires a proper bacon, egg and black pudding sandwich.
Rest assured she'll be taken care of. I have no grand plans on changing her appearance, but I do plan on putting many more miles on that HUGE set of clocks. hehe.
Thanks again, Mart. I'll join you with a gin & tonic.

Most motorcycle problems are caused by the nut that connects the handle bars to the saddle.
