One fortunate Police rider

#1 Post by T.C. » Fri Sep 12, 2014 10:18 am

Many people have asked me about my experiences when I used to do Special Escort Group work, and very few believe that sometimes things go wrong.

Well, here is proof of the pudding that things can and do go wrong, no matter how well trained you are or how good you think you are, none of us are indestructable (and this is not in any way meant as an apportioment of blame in this case as nobody yet knows the full cause)

Lets hope everyone makes a speedy and full recovery

I didn't know you used to do the Special Escort stuff.

Perhaps it was you that very nearly ran me off the road on Millbank just after the Vauxhall Bridge lights when I inadverdantly got between a tail end charlie and vehicle under escort.

I was left in no doubt at all that I wasn't welcome and the Escort rider did a very thorough job of cutting me off, ensuring that I had no options apart from stopping bloody sharpish without having to stop himself.

Initially I was a bit pissed off, but quickly realised the my own error and was ultimately impressed by the escort riders ability and speed of action.

Let's face it, you wouldn't go to a nurse to get good advice on a problem with a Falco - you'd choose an Engineer or a mechanic...
