Bournemouth Air Show

#1 Post by BikerGran » Mon Sep 01, 2014 10:39 am

Had a family day on a beach near Bournemouth, watching the air show as well. It was a really spine-tingling moment when the Memorial flight came over from behind us and I temporarily lost the power of speech and gibbered at the others trying to tell them to look behind!

Wonderful! I've seen the BBMF flying several times now, including at Edinburgh and East Fortune recently and I always get a shiver down my spine and the hairs up on the back of my neck. Unfortunately, due to an engine failure on the CWHM Lancaster, you didn't see the two flying together at Bournemouth as was planned. I understand that the BBMF team have loaned the Canadians their spare Merlin so that it can continue with its UK tour. I'm planning to be at Ayr next Saturday to see them flying together. :smt001
