Scottoiler V
Barnett clutch kit complete.
Any experience of the above, fellow pilots ? The Barnett clutch plates boast an 80% increased clutch tab thickness so does this mean they wont fit like EBC frictions ( overall the complete stack of plates stand proud of clutch basket )
As ever I will be spanking the bank balance so if you have any remarks such as avoid/spend a tenner more on this ect/ save your bucks because hostage grade cable ties work better ect.
Thanks in advance

I don't really have a tying constructive to say so maybe I should stfu. But I won't. I've only had a scottoiler on one bike. I had it on the slowest setting and used the thicker higher temp oil in an attempt to reduce the amount of shit being flicked all over my rear wheel. And it's a pita to clean off. I wouldn't bother getting another.

Is the 5 the new electric one?

Scottoiler - yep, well worth the money. Keeps my chain well lubricated and is so much more "mess free" than other lubricating methods. I'd say the V is the model to go for - don't see much point paying loads more for the new electric one.

I'm not saying don't go for the Barnett but I've seen that a lot of people have had problems with them. They give a heavier clutch action (some people give a compromise by using 3 Barnett springs and 3 aprilia springs.
I know some had problems with the clutch pack not fitting properly - I think they needed a thinner plate. Plenty written on AF1 if you fancy searching over there.

with Nero on the mess on the wheel, my silver wheel is constantly black splatted from the chain run-off.

That said, I find it easy to clean with some GT85, and also my chain has never been in such good condition. Having asked a mate to help me lube the chain once and him spraying wax all over my rear brake disc (first junction was interesting!), I'm happy enough with the Scottoiler.

+1 for the scottoiler. Have fitted one to every bike I've had. Much less hassle than spray lubes, chain lasts way longer and the oil is light so easy to wipe off any fling. Plus I have a bike with black wheels and I hate cleaning. ...

Let's face it, you wouldn't go to a nurse to get good advice on a problem with a Falco - you'd choose an Engineer or a mechanic...

Thanks for the input fellas, so from my own point of view its a yes to the Scottoiler, it costs the same as about 10 cans of spray on crap, most likely a no to the Barnett clutch kit, If Im going to have problems I may as well have problems with the EBC frictions I already bought, they will fit IF i fit one less steel and one less friction
