Things I did not know

#1 Post by flatlander » Sat Jun 07, 2014 7:46 am

For example I did not know that babies are born without knees
For the avoidance of doubt and for the benefit of my wife, not everything I may say here will be absolutely true I may on ocassion embellish a little for effect.
That said when it comes to motorbikes, I like to ride side saddle with a nice frock

Neither did I! Are you sure? Do you mean without kneecaps, ie patella? Cos maybe I did know that - it's only cartilage.
The tragedy of old age is not that one is old, but that one is young.

The Patella is definitely a bone!

It does, however protect the cartilage in the knee joint.

At birth, a baby's patella is still cartilage that has not yet turned into bone.

That said, babies certainly do have knees!

They are born with cartilage not bone so do not have knees / kneecaps they grow these later in time with walking. I.e when they need them

One of the reasons appears to be to allow movement bordering on hyper extensibility such as that which Mylene Klass has, which I also only just found out!

What I now need to ruminate on is why Mylene having this strikes me as a good thing ?

Did anyone know that elephants can't jump?

(And do you know the reason why?)
It's the V-twin thing. There's just something about it that inline-4s don't have at all, and V-4s don't have enough of.

Apparently elephants don't have ankles, and you need them to jump with.

(Oh, and camels can't walk backwards.)
