Horns

#1 Post by Shetland Woody » Sun Jun 01, 2014 11:21 am

I love my falco, every time I go out I think I should've fitted this Gabro chip years ago. Gabro you are a legend!!
Been for a blast, sun is shining......love it :smt003
I say before I leave ( drive sensible ) two minutes in the horns pop out.
2 things tho, let's say at while accelerating to legal speed limits on pretty much full throttle the noise from the hooked air filter plate is unreal, but it seems to vibrate of the rocker heads or something. (I'll need to check that)
And sometimes when I thumb the starter there's a lull in power like a flat battery for a second then whoosh she spins into life, does that even with a new solenoid, did I read somewhere it could be corrosion on the starter motor terminals that can cause that?

Oh, and my steering damper feels great now:)
Er :smt101 after I checked my tyre pressures and found front and rear an entire bar out!!! Oops

My starter does the same, I have the uprated relay fitted, been thru everything electrical, no loose/bad connections so put it down to a tired starter

I'm also a member of the slightly iffy starter club. Battery and solenoid are good, wiring seems ok. Occasionally I press the button and all the electric just seems to fall out. Occasionally occasionally the dash resets. It's always gone on the second attempt though. I seem to remember Oldgit having his dodgy starter rejuvenated.
Where ever I lay my hat.....

Hmmm, in that case through next winter months I'll maybe have a little look inside the starter itself. I uprated to the 100amp solenoid but I wondered if the 150 would cure the hesitant start. I don't get the dash reset and it does spin ok on the second go also, but just get the odd look from people at petrol pumps etc when you go to leave and you get the, slow ach can't be bothered thing from the starter lol
Cheers guys :smt001

Mine does the same on occasion, dimming all the dash lights but not quite to the point of resetting the dash. I keep my finger on the button and it soon spins up to full speed.

This only happens when the engine is warm so usually at petrol stations in front of people...
