Red Falco for Sale

#1 Post by mmchutchon » Sat Apr 26, 2014 8:05 pm

Cannot believe I'm doing this, but my beloved Falco of the past 6+ years has to go. Selling for various reasons (no longer have a garage, 2 kids under 4, need money for patio/lean-to where a new bike will go in the future...) I will be without a bike for a while and I'll test ride some others in a couple of years but would not be surprised if I end up buying another Falco at that point!

In the interests of honouring this excellent forum I thought I'd put the word out here first, give it a week or so and then do eBay / Bike Trader / MCN or whatever.

1999 V-plate
24,000 miles
Tax 31/08/2014
MoT 04/09/2014 but will put 12 months on prior to sale
New Motobatt battery (September 2013)
Optimate leads
Includes stock rear seats and original pillion seat cowl
Really clean, starts and runs sweetly.
Both sets of keys, V5 all in my name, stacks of paperwork.
All consumables have plenty of life left, Bridgestone BT021s fitted at present.

Mods: -
White spring Mille rear shock
Scott Oiler
Lowered gearing (down 2t at front I think)
HID dipped bulb and main-beam wiring mod
Tricolore dash cover
Datatool S4 alarm
Radiator and oil cooler covers
Anodised clutch and brake master cylinder covers
Fork service just over 2 years ago and few miles since then
Rear paddock stand bobbins fitted although I use an Abba stand

Bad points: -
Full Aprilia Dealer Service History until 2 years ago. Was SORN'd for 18 months then been used sparingly since September 2013. Is currently due a major service including valve clearance check. I've been estimated 8-10 hours by SP Motorcycles in Exeter for the whole service so £500 all in. If you're handy with the spanners this bike will be a bargain, otherwise add £500 to the price below to get the cost for a fully serviced bike.

Gloss block front mud guard as original was damaged due to multiple seized bolts. All sorted now apart from the non-standard mud guard!

Minor cosmetic rust to non-critical bolts and scuffing on front left fairing - see photos.

£1300 ono

I'm Exeter based, happy to travel an hour to meet interested buyers. Call me to discuss, 07976 871 941.

Thanks,

Mark

p.s. I'm sure i'll still be around this forum as it's such an excellent source of advice and wisdom on all things bikes. Everything a forum should be!
