New bike

Test rode, and left a deposit on, a Moto Guzzi California 1100 today. Collecting it a week on Saturday, when the seller's back from holiday.

Very chilled, relaxed riding, cool as can be, nice shiny chrome bits. Massive Hepco Becker panniers & top box. Really stable, fantastic low-speed cornering. Heel & toe gear change is rather weird, but I sort of got the hang of it. Black and yellow - quite cheery looking, like a bumblebee or ladybird.

So is this an "as well as" or an "instead of" purchase?

Sounds good either way.

Fantastic, I've always had a soft spot for Guzzis. I've still got a Guzzi spare part in the shed somewhere.

As well as.

I've wanted a California for over 30 years.

As mentioned before, I still keeping thinking about a Norge or more likely a Griso to replace the ZX9R.

Trouble is I also fancy a Trumpet Sprint 1050, which I can get for less money than the Griso and Trumpet holds it's value better, (well should I say would be easier to sell for a decent price).
Been too busy on the house to progress anything to date, and off to Cyprus at the weekend for hols.
Good luck with the Calli Mart, should be great this summer if we get another decent one.
I'm sure you'll tell us all about it soon.
