Modifying stock cans.

#1 Post by ginge » Mon Mar 17, 2014 1:39 am

I have a spare set of stock exhausts that I'm going to modify rather than get an aftermarket pair. Has anyone done this, if so what length did you cut to and what did you do about the internals? Also how did this effect the eprom etc?

Thanks for any help. :smt001

Paddy cored his cans and they sounded quite nice.
He didn't shorten them though.
How he did only he can tell you

Let's face it, you wouldn't go to a nurse to get good advice on a problem with a Falco - you'd choose an Engineer or a mechanic...

.... or you could read about what he posted up about it.

It's either on here or on the AF1 forum (or maybe both)

Bear in mind stock cans weight a lot more than aftermarket.

The internal is a cartridge. Held in place by the end cap welds as in the weld is holding 3 items together. I cut the cans back about 2 inches from outlet end. If you cut from the front the mounting bracket don't line up
