Tour De France Meet? 4th -7th July

#1 Post by Apriliabas » Sun Feb 02, 2014 11:38 pm

Anyone fancy a weekend in the great Yorkshire countryside with a view of the Tour De France thrown in?
Link below for camping near High Bradfield, organised by the local brewery (er, Bradfield Brewery, funnily enough).
Camping seems a bit expensive but the beer is cheap (was £2.20 a pint bottle direct from the brewery, cheaper by the dozen) and there is a beer tent onsite, I believe.
You also get the chance to see the end of the Tour.
Roads roundabout the brewery are small country ones but I guess most will be closed off leading up to the day. Dambusters museum about 30 min ride away at Derwent reservoir.
The Old Horns Inn also does very good food, about 100yds from the Brewery. Fridays are Fish n Chip nights £4.95. Menu aint expensive either (does get very busy tho).
I live about 4 miles away. Would be nice to meet up with likeminded bikers (that includes you, Mart!).

Welcome to the forum apriliabas. Nice of you to post up this event.
But seem as your talking about beer, how about getting in the bar and buying a virtual pint?
Tell us about your noble steed?

My trusty steed is a 2001 Futura. Red, of course. Far better than those silver ones (Mart Dude, sorry!), although black is also good. Had it for almost 9 years. No mods as yet (apart from later map), just a bit of bling here and there. Looking at getting a custom exhaust for a bit more in the sound department but, time and money means could take a while yet.
I certainly can buy a virtual pint, as long as they take virtual money.
