RIP to a good friend. Some here may have known him

I had one of the most unpleasant shocks yesterday. I sent a test message to a good friend of mine Steve McManus a few days ago suggesting that we were long overdue to meet up for a coffee, even though we communicated regularly by email and text. I turned on my phone yesterday with a message from his wife Aly to say that Steve had passed away  as a result of the cancer he had been fighting for about 5 years. I spoke to him just before xmas and he was in good spirits and said he felt fighting fit.

He was just 48.

Steve was a professional musician working on many of the big west end shows but also had many big film music scores to his name such as the Bond movies, but just as important to Steve was his love of bikes. He ran a Blade and VFR12000, was a qualified advanced instructor up to RoSPA diploma level and helped many riders develop and improve their riding.

Most importantly he was one of the worlds really nice guys.

Rest in peace buddy, you will be missed, wild horses will not jeep me from attending your funeral and supporting Aly.

It is better to arrive 30 seconds late in this world than 30 years early in the next

A really nice guy you say?
