South Coast Zero Tolerance

#1 Post by lorenz90 » Thu May 10, 2007 10:27 am

OK got this info secondhand from a friend but thought i'd post anyway;

my friends went to classic show at amberley then to bury hill and boxhill on sunday.i didn't ride that day at all as i went to watch my mate's rock band :smt035 at a hockey festival of all things!!!
that's a whole other story, it was carnage - all p#**ed on snakebite and blackcurant, buckets of it drunk through funnels:smt078.....priceless!!

but confirm i saw 4 police bikes! (not seen any on bikes for ages!!) and 3 cars within few minutes of each other on a272 when in cage.

plus speed trap devils dyke, steyning to washington road, etc, etc.

as they were on their classics didn't get much attention, however sports bikers were being targeted for plates/pipes, any indiscretion. taking numbers when they came into park, in unmarked cars too, and talking to them about their systems and noisy pipes.one guy got £30 fine for full american ti system on his kwakker 6..

The guys managed to speak to one and was told zero tolerance for bikers in sussex on suns and bank holidays. They said (and this is where i'm not sure how concrete it is that from july 1st noisy pipes & small plates means 3 points) :smt013

now this is first i've heard of it , apparently that's what they are doing. the guys pointed out does this apply to harley able-to riders too with slash pipes and tiny plates? the copper said this has been raised but don't hold your breath, its us they are out to get

just be warned!!

just heard a mate on a ktm supermoto on sunday got followed by bikes (he has no mirrors on it and was his excuse when he was stopped eventually) charged with failing to stop for an officer :smt018 how many points is that ??? 7 to 10?? ouch

what? you mean you've made no cosmetic alterations to your bike at all, it's completely standard , you've kep the heavy std cans and oversized plate, clear visor, etc, etc............and you have 1000cc's yet you never ever go over 70?? :smt018 :smt040

:smt059

well all credit to you...coz i just can't do it.........

besides which, its not even if you are legal or not....its about targeting a sector of the public for trivial motoring offences when there's far more important crime to deal with.....
i know even the french police have hardened recently but generally they are still pretty much concerned with real crime matters........
:smt002
this was just a gentle warning to everyone, how you use it is up to you.....

They'll have a hard time ticketing people with loud pipes if they are legal.
