WTB: Cyclecat or equivilant adjustable side stand 1st gen

#1 Post by efrizz16 » Wed Nov 27, 2013 12:59 am

Looking for a Cyclecat or similar for a 1st gen Falco, but I'm sure any 1st gen would fit.

Hmmm - never heard of a cyclecat, sorry
(and all Falcos are of the same generation)

Same as DR says, don't know about cyclecat, (sounds like a Toon character), but there is an adjustable stand from the USA that sometimes crops up on eBay.
It is all alloy and pretty expensive, so shipped over here it would be a silly price.
Best bet is go for a Honda - use search and see posts on the site.
Lots of info available.

I'm actually in the US. Cyclecat as far as I know was an AF1 forum member who made a small run of these stand. I actually had the US spec stand I just need an adjustable because I lowered the bike. I really don't wanna cut up my stock one.

Probably better asking on AF1 for this one then.
I don't think that cyclecat made it over here - if anyone knows they'll probably be on AF1 (not that I remember anyone mentioning this on their Falco forum either)

If I remember correctly I had to cut Down my GSXR stand anyway to get the lean angle I wanted, maybe best bet is, keep your stand intact and get the GSXR one to cut and mod as you please :smt001
If you can't find the cyclecat one :smt002 lol

Or a fire blade leg

Let's face it, you wouldn't go to a nurse to get good advice on a problem with a Falco - you'd choose an Engineer or a mechanic...

Boys ..... you're not listening.

He's in the USofA

He has one of Aprilia's stands that works just fine

He's lowered his bike (presumably he and Tim are forming a special section in the forum along with Ronnie Corbett and Warren Davis)

He wants to shorten his stand to compensate but avoid cutting his good Aprilia stand

He's found one that might be OK - the Cyclecat and is now trying to source one.

:smt004

I think that covers it

And I refer my honourable colleague to the OP saying he did not want to cut his original stand

If he acquired a fire blade leg he could cut that ....

Will a fireblade or GSXR stand fit on the an American bike? I though UK was two point mounting and US a 3 point mounting.

ok

the gixxer is going to be a none starter for you

to fix our crap strands, one option we have is to use the leg from a 2006 honda fire blade

just the leg, not the bracket

we know that fits straight into the bracket and on to the bike so should therefore fit on your bike / bracket

The one that was on eBay was an all alloy adjustable one, (no mention of cyclecat), at around a hundred dollars, but I cannot find it now.
It looked very well made but too expensive to bring over here.
It may have been the last few he had left, or something different.

TBH I don't know. I've never seen a US stand "up close".
The 3 mountings doesn't matter - that's just how the bracket fits to the frame. What matters is how the stand fits to the bracket - and I don't know how that differs from the European version.

Sorry
