Potential new bike

#1 Post by blinkey501 » Sun Nov 24, 2013 9:57 am

Apart from the colour what do you think. I may be doing a deal for one of the falco's.
The mille is a 2000 bike with 16.000 miles on the clock.

So you've gone from creating a museum of every colour of Falco to building a collection of every Aprilia ever produced ...... ?

Superb bike, but I don't think the styling has aged as well as the Falco. Makes sense for you though; you would have the Supersports, Sports Light and Sports Tourer versions of the V990 motor of a certain era. Should cater for most eventualities... the only problem would be deciding which one to use.

Oh yes, and I really like the colour.

Unless I'm mistaken, that model wouldn't have the bits that the vultures circle for anyway; OZ wheels, 4 pad calipers and Ohlins forks/shock. I'd be tempted to hang out for the 'R' version to get the full-fat experience.

looks tidy

I see the undercoat has been done - decided on a top coat colour yet?

Let's face it, you wouldn't go to a nurse to get good advice on a problem with a Falco - you'd choose an Engineer or a mechanic...

The oasis. Just waiting from another forum member to get back to me. He is trying to sell his bike and maybe interested in mine.

I prefer those to the ones with the big gap under the seat. But the later ones did come with some very pretty bits, like those clocks that don't look like an alarm radio.

Nice one - that's the best description I've heard of the Falco/Mille clocks. I knew they reminded me of something, just couldn't think what...

I have seen it attempted. The battery has to be moved and the leads extended, the mille subframe has to be altered and the under tray off the mille has to be used. Although after all of this, the side panels don't line up. Maybe with a mille tank it would look ok.
Personally I thought what I had seen it looked shite!!!!!!!! :smt104
