took the plunge, bought a new bike

#1 Post by lazarus » Wed Oct 23, 2013 4:32 pm

and after all the agonising over harley, guzzi even aprillia, I bought my third 1200GS. Lack of imagination according to swmbo, but I feel more comfortable on a GS than anything else I have tried. Pity about the GS image but then if image bothered me I wouldnt have considered a harley.

The latest one is a twin cam from 2012 with 1300 miles on the clock but two previous owners. One of them chopped it in after just 3 months and 600 miles when the new water cooled GS came out! Why do some people change their bikes faster than their underwear? There was a Fatboy for sale in the same place I bought the GS, it was 12 months old, had done 300 miles and the owner had taken a £4k bath on it!

The tragedy of old age is not that one is old, but that one is young.
