Errmmmmm, I like the use of cable ties :smt009

Surely if you're worried about cost you can just buy or find an old door seal or something similar as others have done, remove the airbox lid and fit the correct height K&N? Be cheaper and easier than all that faffing around.

No but it is essentially what I was planning to do before I got my renegade kit (I would have engineered mine a bit better than that though)

I'd already bought a secondary filter with more area than the one pictured.
I would also have cut a hole through the airbox cover above the standard air filter so that the secondary filter could also be fed with air from the intake tubes.

I'd do it a litte tidier than that but it's the principle I like.

The best thing I've seen is the MWR filter. But it's pricey.

Do you still have that K&N spare D-R?

Buy a K@N of ebay and modify your air box. I will be doing my own write up in the next couple of weeks when another air box arrives.

Cheers Blinkey, I'll look forward to your write up.

I'll keep my eye out for a spare box, i would like to hack another to bits and keep a std one spare really.

I have a spare box, i started to modify, I then got a renegade air kit off here so the box I never got around to finishing is available and comes with a k+N the box is probably about 90% finished already and has the appropriate seal around the lip. Anyone interested?

Does anyone have an evo or renegade kit they could take pics of?

Here's the pics

It's an unfinished project, it needs around the screw heads trimming off to make it a little neater, possibly some foam inserted inside the rubber seal to give it a little more body to get a better seal to the tank? Up to who ever wants it to decide if it it needs that or not, I personally would if I were to continue finishing it. And the k+n needs a re oil. And what ever else who wants it decides it needs, I'm not claiming its perfect but it's in the ball park if someone wants to Finnish it. Pm me with an reasonable offer. It's just taking up space in the garage now. :smt001

renegade

Let's face it, you wouldn't go to a nurse to get good advice on a problem with a Falco - you'd choose an Engineer or a mechanic...
