Chain and sprocket

#1 Post by jonnie_r » Sat Sep 21, 2013 11:02 am

Changing the chain and sprockets today, and the inside face of the old front sprocket is worn quite badly.

On the rear sprocket is the recess supposed to be facing into the wheel or out? The current rear was facing in and I'm wondering if this is helping to contribute to the wear

just had similar issue with recessed rear sprocket on a replacement chain kit. the old sprocket coming off was a B&C renthal the same thickness all over ie no recess, that i put on in 2005 so i rang B&C.
Falco is possibly the only aprilia that needs a non recessed sprocket for correct alignment. they no longer stock them and nor does anyone else.
B&C will make one up, the pattern number you need is 357A 525 41T.
they are making one up at the moment for me.
you can use recessed sprocket but you need to space it out with 2.5mm washers. it leaves a gap that i didn't like around the sprocket carrier.
Ive looked for a better bike but there aren't any
