A few mods to the project.

#1 Post by blinkey501 » Sun Aug 04, 2013 12:30 pm

Been in the garage most of the morning.
When flatlander "Geoff" binned the black falco that belonged the falconalists the rear sub frame was damaged beyond repair.
So I decided to change the tail section.
Whilst the rear end was removed I decided to change the rear header as the top bolt was easy accessible.
It would appear there are limitations to my knowledge on the falco.
I openly admit I didn't realise the mille system didn't go together with falco swinger.
So I thought I would change the swingarm as I have a bronze item in stock.
Doh.... Swingarm bearings are fooked!!!!!
With this in mind I decided that a bronze smingarm would look "Strange" with a silver frame.
A phone call to one of our senior members of ridersite has two in stock.
So hopefully one will be here by the end of the week.
So the state of play has left the bike looking like this.

When the bike is completed this will be my track toy for 2014.
I will post pics as the build progresses.
Tolerance will be our undoing.

Yes he fooked it big time.
Spare panels are off for paint. Colour will not be everybodys taste, and if the bike was going on the road would have to be parked in the next field at the meets. :smt017

I take it the senior member was the shortest one as per our phone call?

And if you had of asked - I have a full set of rear suspension / swing arm bearings in my stores.....

Let's face it, you wouldn't go to a nurse to get good advice on a problem with a Falco - you'd choose an Engineer or a mechanic...
