Norfolk Meet 2013 - Tell us when you can come!

#1 Post by blinkey501 » Wed Jul 10, 2013 6:43 pm

The 2013 annual Ridersite Norfolk meet will be at the Barn Near Acle if all goes to plan.
The barn is situated near Tunstall.
http://www.visionofbritain.org.uk/place/2911

We are considering one of 3 weekends but we need to understand people's preferences before we decide which.
The weekends we are considering are the following:
  • August Bank Holiday: Sat 24th, Sun 25th, Mon 26th Aug (people rolling in on Fri 23rd)
This option has an extra day so may may it more worthwhile for those coming from a distance

Sat 31st Aug, Sun 1st Sept (people rolling in on Fri 30th)

Sat 7th, Sun 8th Sept (people rolling in on Fri 6th)
Please click the following link to show your availability.
Please identify yourself with your forum username.

The address will be posted nearer the time for those like myself have never been before .... or just do a search for previous Norfolk weekends (other than last year's)
Tolerance will be our undoing.

Further to Blinkey's info, here's a link to an old post giving location and arrangements from a previous year.
Obviously some things will not be the same (Sam won't "be on site all weekend" - though he will in spirit ..... and catering arrangements and costs have not been sorted out for this year) but it's a very good guide

Shift work for me means at most a day-pass only to join in on the fun but it would be nice to have a run down...

LOL - That 'Aircraft carrier Launch Ramp' looks MINT!

Have just posted on the doodle thingymebob. Sorry to say I can't make any of these dates. I am away catching up on old times with my friends Mickie and Minnie, they've invited me over to spend some time with them at their pad in Florida :smt007
I'll be back by the 1st but don't think work would be keen to give me a nights weekend off after being away for 3 weeks :smt013
Its a shame cos I love Norfolk and have spent many a happy holiday there over the past 30 years or so.
Hope you all have a great weekend. :smt023

Most unlikely that I'll be going this year - it's really too far. I'll be glad to think of you all at the Barn though - you know Samray will be hanging around with a virtual bottle of JD! :smt051

Bump.

Could peeps please enter their preferences for dates in the poll? The barn has to be booked, and time marches on . . .

For the avoidance of doubt and for the benefit of my wife, not everything I may say here will be absolutely true I may on ocassion embellish a little for effect.
That said when it comes to motorbikes, I like to ride side saddle with a nice frock

Not sure if I can do this yet - I may have to gate crash at the last minute.

I have spoken with the owner, Robert.

We have the barn from 23rd to 26th August

I took note of when the most people could be there in my booking of dates. as well as my own leave dates.
Apologies to those who're now mortally wounded by not being able to attend

They see it as a fitting memorial to Sam that we use the barn and will take a donation to the costs of running it rather than charging us a fee for hire.

Woo Hoo - I thought I was probably going to have to miss it - great news :smt004

..... and the forum meeting at the barn is a fitting tribute to our erstwhile furry-chopped friend

Do we have to reserve a sleeping place ion the barn? If so, I'm booking mine now.
