Bike Storage

Due to work commitments, I am going to be living overseas for the next couple of years which leaves me with a couple of choices when it comes to the Falco; the obvious one is to just sell it and replace it on my return, however with the prices that they are going for I know it will never be worth in money what it is worth to me and most likely I would only want to replace it with something very similar and then would have to redo most of the modifications

The alternative is to try and store it, no problem with the preparation/maint side of this but the problem I am having is trying to find somewhere to store it. Does anyone have any experience of somewhere that deals with this, preferably in the Oxfordshire/Reading area as I am not planning on returning to Eastern UK when I return.

Some storage places have special areas for vehicles....

Don't forget to SORN AND INSURE it

If only I'd got my new garage built I'd be happy to help you out - but don't think that's going to happen in time.

Will have a chat with Debz and see if she's happy to have a bike here in our garage long-term. Quite often I have customers' bikes here for a few days to a week. I've had a Superduke here for over three months now, should be getting picked up any day, so will have room for another.... depending on what plans she may have for keeping her car in it as well.

That was easy

No problem with storing it here. I can offer a ground anchor, a battery tender and a bike cover if you want it, stored off it's wheels on stands, plus a pre-lay-up prep. You'll have to arrange your own insurance though, I can give you any information your company wants. Email me if you're interested as I'll probably forget to check in here frequently.

Tbh pete that is not quite true.
There was a discussion about this but I think it was scaremongering.
As long as the bike is sorned it doesn't need insurance....

True. But a fire and theft only policy is a good idea while a bike is laid up for some years... just in case! It'll keep your NCD ticking over as well.

Aye.. 'laid up' insurance.. theft and fire cover basically

had it on the Honda although for some reason i went fully comp in a vain attempt to force my hand to get it back on the road and gixxer slaying..
