Flatlander special

#1 Post by blinkey501 » Thu Jun 27, 2013 6:04 pm

I pulled the black falco out today in preparation into turning the bike into a track bike.
I managed to win a collector off a mille on evilbay for a tidy price.
I removed the oil cooler for hisnibs as I intend to do the mid section mod with the pipe work tank and cooler off the mille.
The front down pipe bolts were rusted solid and slightly rounded off.
The hot spanner soon got the nut heads glowing and after hammering a slightly smaller socket onto the nuts out they came :smt003
I have a few bits to swap over for Geoff over the next couple of weeks.
It would appear I like to tinker :smt017.
Both wheels are bent due to the impact with a roundabout. Can they be repaired?
Anyway the Kawasaki is on hold at the moment as parts don't seem to be readily available like a full gasket set.
It seems it will be genuine gaskets only at a premium :smt012
The frame and swingarm can be shot blasted and powder coated at a very reasonable price which is a bonus.
I think I will have to go back on what I said about the kwak at marches meet. But who knows.
I might need some assistance in locating parts for the kwak and hope you could help where possible, like a cheap full gasket set for a 1977 KZ400 twin :smt003
Thanks fella's

which gaskets cant you get?

many of the casing gaskets you can make with (to quote REME)

Although it's more awkward now they stopped using jobcards in our place.. I have to use 1045 pad covers instead

For the avoidance of doubt and for the benefit of my wife, not everything I may say here will be absolutely true I may on ocassion embellish a little for effect.
That said when it comes to motorbikes, I like to ride side saddle with a nice frock
