Strange vibration

Last 2 days on my way home from work, the Falc has shuddered a bit, felt like it was missing, reluctant to accelerate, vibration felt through footpegs.
This only happened on the way home, not way in, around 3000 rpm, drop down a gear and it revs ok.
Seem to be getting a lot of noise from around the clutch, again its not constant, some times chattering,other times no noise

Just checked chain tension and front sprocket retainer, all good

If you hadn't mentioned chain, I wouldn't have thought to check front sprocket ! Yes it was installed with Loctite
RS is top !

Run through the usual

Air Filter clean?
Plugs clean / gapped / done up properly (there have been cases of them working loose - even had this myself and I have no doubt they were properly fitted in the first place
Check battery connections and other connections in the ignition circuit are done up properly
Check plug caps are on tight.

That'll do for starters ..........

Sounds like not enough fuel getting through, but...

Have you recently adjusted the chain? Could be a tight spot, but rest of the chain is OK?

Bit strange that it's happened twice, but only on the way home...

check your wheel alignment and tensioners

Wheel alignment spot on, chain a tad on the slack side, 1/4 to 1/2 inch too slack.
She does need a major service, the noise seems to be from the valve train, not clutch as I thought.
The shuddering is a bit like when you dont give it enough when pulling away, but occuring around 3000 rpm,accelerating in slow moving traffic, hopefully its down to firing/fueling
Noticed it again today, on the way home again, so cold morning ride, hot afternoon return, relevant ?
much checking to do this w/end !

The things you've checked there were extremely unlikely culprits ..... I repeat:

Rain prevented any further ivestigation. Bugger, the car is off the road for a few weeks, the coffers are all but empty

Quick ride today, a noticable harshness from 3 to 5k rpm, rattle from clutch in neutral, dissapears with lever pulled in

As of last weekend, I am having the same problem of vibration, and the clutch noise when idling in neutral. If I pull the clutch in the noise goes. Have recently changed the chain and sprockets so will check the front sprocket at weekend. But the clutch I cannot explain. Any suggestion welcome.

I am not as mechanical as I would like to be but I can say that the noise from the clutch is perfectly natural, in neutral the clutch is under no pressure, the plates will make a noise, when you pull in the clutch the plates get compressed and the noise goes away, I have this and don't consider it a problem.
I think the vibration or bike coughing between 3000 and 5000 revs is the thing to look at solving.
