What exhausts fit?

#1 Post by ginge » Sat Jun 08, 2013 2:36 pm

So would like some noisier exhausts as my bike currently has standard ones.

Curious as to whether any other bikes have exhausts which fit the falco and I can search for? Or if anyone has some cheap exhausts available?

Thank.

As a straight fit nothing else I believe

Thanks for the welcome. Picked up a slightly tatty but cheap falco with fairly high miles recently. Need to give it a good overhaul more than anything. With regards the exhaustswhere do I get the special tool to remove the bolts holding them on or do you guys just make them/cut up an old socket?

A socket set?

No special tools needed

High miles ..... probably just about run-in for a Rotax :smt002

As long as it's been looked after those motors go on and on :smt001

Is it not just the link pipes that make them Falco-fit, rather than the cans themselves? If you find some you fancy, be worth contacting the manufacturer and seeing if they've got link pipes to make them fit.

Another forum member took his stock cans, and (ahem) modified the internals. Sounds very good

I just bought link pipes and put two general exhaust cans on. Important thing is making sure your link pipes fit the cans. Just a diameter measurement.

Bolt on the outside going in to the hanger appears to be a tamper-proof type with 3 small holes on a domed surface. Normal socket wont work.

That's unusual.... someone has fited tamper proofbolts to secure the original fitment silencers....... most of us can't give em away!

Will try and upload a photo in the next couple of days.

With regards to suspension mine is in need of a serious overhaul as I got the bike cheap and although not a dog it isnt 100%, more than rideable though. To this end does anyone have the standard suspension settings for the forks?

The bike however came fitted with a WP shock. Has anyone got any idea where I should begin with settings for this? The bike at the moment seems to understeer a bit, is this a normal characteristic for the bike or caused by the current set-up?

Edit: I recently picked up a pillion seat from here but if anyone has a very tatty one or even just the base available Id be interested in buying as I'd like to bolt a top box on to one. Thanks.

Hi Ginge - the first place to start is to move everything back stock settings, then set the static sag, then rider sag. after that make small adjustments to suit your riding preferences.
Some good advice on other threads and some members have greater experience than me on suspension set ups.
To be honest just setting the sag will be a huge improvement.
