RSV rear master cylinder conversion
At a recent track day I found the standard pegs very slippery, and had to adopt a weird 'toe out' riding style to keep my feet on the pegs.
It's not so noticeable on the road but I have found them a bit lacking in grip, especially when wet.
I had decided to replace just the pegs, but most replacements look pretty gash so I thought I might as well invest in some rearsets.
Falco rearsets are few and far between, so I've got a set for an RSV on the way. The only problem here is obviously the RSV rear m/c is mounted separately on the r/h side of the engine.
A little online research leads me to believe I can use the existing Falco m/c and brake line, but will need the RSV mounting bracket and m/c actuating rod, and to extend the line to the reservoir.
Ideally I'd only like to have to do the job once, can anyone who has done it confirm the above is correct?

If only the squid could do the same

I had seen the Danmoto ones, but apparently they're cheap for a reason and don't last.
Instead I found some Sato Racing rearsets for an RSV, and pick them up this weekend.
Thanks for the link, but it looks like the 'squid fitted a pair of Falco style AP rearsets. I've done a little more research and think I need:
1 - M/C mounting bracket
2 - Brake lever mounting bracket
3 - Longer RSV actuating rod
4 - Extended line to reservoir
Once I've got the rearsets here I'll offer them up and see how they look, deadline for getting everything fitted is 26th June as I've got another track day

Yup, them's the bunnies. I have got an rsv master cylinder in my box of not fitted yet bits. From memory the mounting centres are the same, the dimensions are broadly similar but the pipes point in different directions. I'll have a look tomorrow. I know it was peanuts off fleabay.szrdave wrote: Thanks for the link, but it looks like the 'squid fitted a pair of Falco style AP rearsets.

Thanks for the offer randomsquid, but I don't think I'll need to change the master cylinder. Details below!
I picked the rearsets up on Saturday morning, and as you'd expect the LH side went on without a hitch:

I'll need to decide on the best peg position and set the gear lever height, but even on a test ride up and down my road the peg feels much gripper. The lever runs on a bearing rather than a bush like the standard lever, so I'm hoping it will tighten the action up a little too.
While I was at it I chucked the RH side on too:

Unfortunately the rear brake M/C won't fit through the gap to bring it forward under the engine, but measuring with a piece of string shows the standard rear line should be long enough for the alternative fitment. I reckon i could get away with using the Falco M/C too, as the line can be swiveled round to point in the right direction.
Now I've got everything I can see the parts I'd need are:
RSV brake lever
RSV brake lever mounting bracket
RSV master cylinder push rod
RSV rear brake light switch
RSV master cylinder bracket & heat shield
Tubing to relocate rear master cylinder
However...while assembling the RH rearset I noticed there is a spacer to give back the length normally taken by the rear brake lever, which could quite easily just be replaced with another lever. A bracket to mount the M/C to the top of the rearset would be easy to make, and problem solved.
I'll see if I can grab a scrap of aluminium from work tomorrow to knock a bracket up, and if it works all I'll need to do is find a silver brake lever that runs on a bearing. It's not the end of the world if it doesn't look the same as the other side, as you'll never see them together
